Afe Babalola University: Webometrics rates ABUAD as the best private university in Nigeria

Afe Babalola University not Covenant is now the best private tertiary institution in Nigeria according to Webometrics. Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), Ado Ekiti, has been ranked as the best private university in Nigeria. Webometrics, a Spain-based world universities ranking website rates ABUAD second coming after the University of Ibadan in its July edition of university ranking. Covenant University, which has always been rated above other private universities occupies the third position in the ranking followed by the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, which rated fourth in Nigeria and 3,050th in the world. ABUAD was established by the former Pro-Chancellor of the University of Lagos,  UNILAG in 2009.   According to Vanguard, ABUAD in the eight years of its existence has been ranked as the fastest growing university in Africa by different bodies. Ahmed Ibeto: Nigeria's Ambassador to South Africa resigns, dumps APC for PDP

The diplomat resigned on Monday and is expected to contest in the Niger State gubernatorial election. Nigeria's Ambassador to South Africa, Ahmed Ibeto, has resigned from his position and subsequently dumped the ruling All Progressives' Congress (APC) for the opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP). According to a report by The Punch, Ibeto left Pretoria and arrived in Nigeria on Sunday, July 29, 2018, before he handed his letter of resignation over to the Ministry of External Affairs on Monday, July 30. He is reported to have left Minna, Niger State capital, on Tuesday, July 31, to his hometown of Ibeto in Magama local government area of the state where he was received by over 1,000 supporters. He's expected to officially dump the APC for PDP while in Ibeto and then announce his intent to contest in the state's gubernatorial election. On Monday, July 30, 2018, 22-year-old Daisy Osakue was driving on a street near Turin, Italy, when unknown assailants levelled up with her and hurled an egg at her face. The impact would leave Osakue in severe pains and needing a patch over her eye. Osakue is a Nigerian born Italian athlete who should take part in next month’s European Athletics Championships in Berlin where she is due to represent Italy in the discus. Reuters reports that Osakue’s attack could have been motivated by racism. 24: A prequel series is in the works at Fox

Jack Bauer origin story is in development at Fox. If the prequel is made, it would be Fox's third attempt at reviving the '24' franchise. A "24" prequel series is reportedly in the works at Fox. According to a report by Variety , showrunner Howard Gordon and original series co-creators Joel Surnow and Bob Cochran are working on a new version of the series, which will focus on a young Jack Bauer. Still in its early phase of development, it's not certain if the prequel will eventually happen. But if it gets to air, it would be Fox's third attempt at reviving the franchise.   The original series, which starred Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer, was originally set to end on May 24, 2010 after eight successful seasons. Samuel Kuchili was the Technical Consultant for Mighty Jets before his death. Former Golden Eaglets star Samuel Kuchili has been confirmed dead by the management of Might Jets Football Club of Jos. Might Jets who are in the Nigeria National League (NNL) confirmed the death of Kuchili who is their Technical Consultant. The PA of Sports Minister has come out to defend Dalung by saying that the captain knelt down out of respect.  Nneka Ikem Anibeze who is the Personal Assistan t of the Sports Minister has said that captain of the Falconets Oluwakemi Famudit knelt out of respect when she was collecting money from him Solomon Dalung . Dalung faced backlash on social media after a video emerged online showing Famudit kneeling to collect money from him after their 4-0 win over an Austrian side in a friendly game.
