Anyim says Nigerian political parties are for politicians to grab power

Anyim attributes the controversies in the PDP and the APC to the parties’ failure to operate within the norms of democratic principles. Sacked LG chairs, councillors to remain in office - Osun Assembly

The recently elected chairmen and councillors had earlier been sacked by the Osun State electoral body. The Osun State House of Assembly has resolved that the sacked Local Government chairmen and councillors should be allowed to continue in office pending the judgement of the court. The resolution was premised on the fact that the judgement nullifying the last October 15 local government elections in the state had been appealed. This was contained in the statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Assembly, Kunle Alabi , in Osogbo on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. This comes after the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC), through its Executive Secretary, Adedapo Adejumo , withdrew Certificates of Return issued to the elected officials of LGAs and disclosed plan not to appeal judgement of an Osogbo Federal High Court that sacked them. Police arrest teacher for alleged sexual assault of 4-year-old pupil

The Police in Borno have arrested a female teacher simply identified as Aunty Zara for allegedly sexually assaulting a four-year-old pupil in Maiduguri. Yakubu Dogara, former Speaker of the House of Representatives and other members of a northern Christian group in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have Babachir Lawal’s endorsement of Peter Obi.
