African Union suspends Gabon after junta announced new leader

The inauguration of Gen. Nguema will take place at the constitutional court on Monday. Following the military coup in Gabon, the African Union’s Peace and Security Council has suspended the Central African country. A group of military officers have seized power in Gabon barely four days after the re-election of President Ali Bongo, who was recently declared winner of the Saturday's presidential election in the country. Bongo, who has been in power since 1999 following the death of his father was declared the winner of the election for his third term in office. NDLEA warns students doing hard drugs won't help them pass in school

The NDLEA says hard drugs don't promote performance of students in any examination. The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has warned Nigerian students, particularly students of the University of Ilorin, against hard drugs, saying no drug can enhance their academic performance. Mohammad Ibrahim , the NDLEA Commander, Kwara Command, gave the advice while speaking with newsmen on Tuesday at Unilorin. He asserted that hard drugs don't promote performance of students in any examination. Osun govt inaugurates committee to distribute FG’s food palliatives

State Commissioner for information stated that the committee comprises representatives of leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Muslim community, labour unions, market women and Inter-Party Advisory Council of Nigeria(IPAC). The Osun Government said it had inaugurated committee for the distribution of the Federal Government’s food palliatives to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal on the residents of the state.
