The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ebere Amaraizu , gave confirmed the priest’s release in Enugu on Wednesday to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). SERAP urges National Assembly to uphold press freedom

SERAP said that Sections 24 and 25 of the Act violated all international and regional treaties on human rights to which Nigeria is a party as well as the provisions of Sections 1(3) and 39 of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution. The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has told the National Assembly (NASS) to take steps to uphold press freedom by repealing obnoxious sections of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) Act, 2015. SERAP said that Sections 24 and 25 of the Act violated all international and regional treaties on human rights to which Nigeria is a party as well as the provisions of Sections 1(3) and 39 of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution. EFCC operatives invade OOU, FUNAAB, and MAPOLY's students apartments

EFCC say the arrested students are safe. Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). have taken into their custody 30 students of  Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) and Federal University of Agriculture in Abeokuta (FUNAAB), as well as those of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU). Nigeria and the United States recorded 5.21 billion dollars bilateral trade between January and August this year. Twitter said Wednesday it would bar political advertising globally on its platform, responding to growing criticism over misinformation from politicians on social media. Chief executive Jack Dorsey said in a tweet that the company took the action to head off potential problems from "machine learning-based optimization of messaging and micro-targeting, unchecked misleading information, and deep fakes." The move comes with Facebook under pressure to apply fact-checking to politicians running ads with debunked claims. 20,000 farmers affected as ‘strange’ disease destroy N1bn onions in Kebbi

The National Association of Onions Farmers, in Kebbi, says it has lost over N1 billion worth of onions to two strange diseases affecting farms and storage facilities in the state. The Chairman of the association, Alhaji Bello Uba , told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday that no fewer than 20,000 farmers were affected. “We have lost over N1 billion to two strange and unknown diseases that emerged and effected the seeds we used as well as the shells of the already ripened onions that we put in our local storage facilities. “We have never witnessed such kind of diseases in decades as no fewer than 20,000 farmers are now affected by the bizarre scourge,” he said. According to him, the farmers believe that the two diseases, coined Zazzalau and Raba, have no remedy for now.
