The Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere, has taken an exception to the comment made by the Chairman of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Council of Elders, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, which appeared to have ridiculed the Yoruba race. Afenifere said it had been inundated with complaints from sons and daughters of Yoruba extraction hence its reaction. Diya, who was also a former military governor of Ogun State, died on Sunday morning. Former Chief of General Staff under Gen. Sani Abacha’s government, retired Lt.-Gen. Oladipo Diya(GCON), is dead.. Born in Odogbolu, Ogun State on April 3, 1944, Diya died eight days before his 79th birthday. His death was announced on Sunday in a statement by his son, Oyesinmilola Diya .
