PHOTO: Nigerian Interior Ministry under fire for reposting explicit image of Latin porn star

When you think you've seen it all in Nigeria, the unthinkable will happen and leave you in awe of the anomalies Nigerians have to go through every day.

The Nigerian Ministry of Interior found itself at the center of online outrage Tuesday, April 23, after its verified X (formerly Twitter) account reposted a nude image of Latin porn actress Lena Hensonu.

The post, which featured the explicit image without any caption or context, appeared on the Ministry's timeline for several hours before it was deleted.

The post, noticed by users early Wednesday, remained visible for nearly 15 hours before it was taken down, long enough to trigger widespread screenshots and backlash on social media.

While the Ministry has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident, observers speculate that the repost may have been the result of an account breach or unauthorised access.

As of this reporting, the Ministry’s X handle has resumed regular posts, though it has not acknowledged the viral incident.

Social media users reacted with shock and ridicule.

“This country will humble you every day,” one user commented, while another joked, “Maybe they’re diversifying into entertainment.”

The Ministry of Interior, responsible for internal security and civil administration, is a key institution in Nigeria’s governance.

The apparent misstep has prompted renewed calls for stricter oversight and digital hygiene among government bodies.

The reposted image has since been removed, but digital footprints of the incident continue to circulate across platforms.
