Africa Day 2022: Here are African songs dominating the world music space

In the last 365 days, Africa has made tremendous progress in all aspects of life, but especially in music.

Africa Day, formerly African Freedom Day and African Liberation Day, is an annual commemoration of the Organization of African Unity's founding on May 25, 1963. It is observed in a number of African countries as well as around the world.

We have carefully curated a playlist to highlight African melodies that are currently dominating the world music space in honor of Africa Day 2022. 'Essence' by Wizkid and Tems, for example, played a significant role in helping the world survive the global pandemic. 'Peru,' 'No Wahala,' 'Finesse,' 'Touch It,' and other songs have had a global impact.
