Netflix greenlights production of 'Chief Daddy' sequel
The upcoming sequel will be directed by Niyi Akinmolayan.
A sequel to 2018 comedy 'Chief Daddy' is officially in the works. According to media mogul, Mo Abudu, Netflix has given a nod for the feature film to be released exclusively to the streamer.
Mo Abudu made the exciting announcement via Instagram on Thursday, July 30. She shared: "Good morning beautiful people ❤️❤️❤️. I did promise you loads of exciting announcements in July, and in keeping with that promise, I have one more announcement to make before we end July...I am pleased to announce that EBONYLIFE FILMS, the Creators and Producers of Chief Daddy in Partnership with NETFLIX will be bringing you CHIEF DADDY 2 !!!"

The media mogul also revealed that the sequel which will be directed by Niyi Akinmolayan ('The Wedding Party 2', 'Chief Daddy') will be available on Netflix in 2021. Its star-studded cast including Nkem Owoh, Patience Ozokwo, Joke Silva, Kate Henshaw, Funke Akindele among others will also reportedly make a come back.

The ongoing nationwide protest, on Monday, spread to the Eleme/Onne section of the East/West Road of Rivers as a large crowd of protesters stormed the popular section connecting the Port Harcourt refineries. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Akpajo axis of the East-West Road, up to the entrance leading to Indorama Petrochemicals, was taken over by angry protesters, who disrupted free vehicular movements.
