Osinbajo on 'thank you' visit to centenarian in Kubwa, FCT

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Friday paid a thank you visit to 106-year-old Mr Gazazhin Alagazhin, at Kubwa, FCT.

Osinbajo had during the campaign ahead of the 2019 presidential election, visited the centenarian who expressed support and predicted victory for President Muhammadu Buhari.

The vice president had promised the centenarian he would return after the election.

Osinbajo had a chat with Alagazhin and members of his family and sought to know how he fared.

Residents trooped out and cheered; as the vice president emerged from Alagazhin’s house, they sang in appreciation as he departed.

President Buhari and Osinbajo were on May 29 sworn-in for a second term in office after winning the Feb. 23 presidential election.

Protesters block East-West road in Rivers, demand action on poverty & hunger

The protesters chose to spotlight the East-west road in the expression of their anger over hunger, poverty and infrastructure deficit in the supposed viable business area. The ongoing nationwide protest, on Monday, spread to the Eleme/Onne section of the East/West Road of Rivers as a large crowd of protesters stormed the popular section connecting the Port Harcourt refineries.
