Abdulfatah Ahmed: Kwara Governor dumps APC for PDP

The Kwara state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has left the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This is coming on the heels of the  Senate President, Bukola Saraki's announcement of his resignation from the APC.

APC cannot meet expectations

The Kwara Governor said that he decided to leave the ruling party because it can no longer serve as a platform for achieving the aspirations of the people of Kwara state.

The statement reads: “Following due consultations with the people and in response to calls by major stakeholder groups in the state, Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed today defected to the People’s Democratic Party(PDP), having realized that the All Progressive Congress (APC) can no longer serve as a platform for achieving the aspirations and expectations of his people.

Kwara APC exco sacked

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National  Working Committee (NWC), on Monday, July 30, 2018, sacked the Alh Ishola Balogun Fulani led Kwara state executive committee of the party.

Fulani reportedly emerged the APC state chairman from Saraki's faction at a separate congress which held a Banquet Hall opposite the Kwara state Government House.

In a statement issued to newsmen, the NWC cited irregularities during the state congress as its reason for dissolving the state excos.

The party also announced Bashir Bolarinwa as the new Kwara state chairman of APC.
