The Police has said that it personnel are working round the clock to ensure that the kidnapped mother of Nigeria’s former Super Eagles player, Samson Siasia is rescued in Bayelsa State. NAN claims that the spokesperson of the Command, SP Asinim Butswat, made this known in a text message in Yenagoa on Sunday, July 28, 2019. Samson Siasia 's mother, Mrs. Beauty Siasia, has spent 14 days in the kidnappers’ den after she was kidnapped on Monday, July 15, 2019 with two others in Odoni community, Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. The 79-year-old woman was kidnapped alongside Mrs. Florence Douanana , 65, and her daughter, Selekire Douanana , 17. According to the SP, the Command is on top of the game, stressing that investigation is on-going to enable the victims regain freedom. Presidency says Shiites are not banned from observing their five daily prayers and going to Mecca to perform the Holy pilgrimage. After obtaining a court order to proscribe the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), the Presidency has explained the reason behind the proscription of the Muslim group. Alhaji Umaru Badami, father to Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa, is dead. Badami, 82, died on Sunday after a protracted illness, Mr Solomon Kumangar, Director-General, Media and Communications, to the governor, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Yola. He said that the octogenarian passed away around 2.30 p.m. “ He was on admission at the Federal Medical Centre, Yola and was discharged yesterday only to later collapse ,” Kumagar told NAN. The deceased, a retired soldier, is survived by a wife and six children, including Gov. Fintiri.
