The Southwest Caucus of the NMA has given the government a 21-day ultimatum to meet the demands of striking National Association of Residents Doctors (NARD). Its Secretary, Dr Bolaji Salako , said the ultimatum, which lapses on Sept.18, also covered the demands of the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria. Salako told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan on Tuesday that if the demands of the two associations were not met before the expiration of the ultimatum, the caucus might embark on strike. He said the strike would pressurise the government into attending to their demands.
